








Beauty School Agenda
Our mission is to provide all eligible enrolled students with the skills and knowledge necessary to prepare them for State Examination and to meet the demands of the current job market.
Admission Requirements: High School graduation diploma or GED or over age 16 and has completed at least 9th grade, and has the ability to benefit from the training. Students without a high school diploma or GED may be admitted under Ability to Benefit test. Requirements: Must pass an Ability to Benefit test, which has been Approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education. Our school does not recruit students already attending or admitted to another school offering a similar program of study. Terms of re-entry for students who withdraw temporarily: Determination for such enrollment is made by personal interview with the applicant.
Classes are scheduled as follows:

The 1500-Hour Cosmetology Course provides training of at least 1500 hours over a period of not less than 10 months. During this period the student is taught a basic knowledge of all phases of Cosmetology and attains a working knowledge of shop management, good ethics and the importance of good grooming. Upon graduation students will have a thorough knowledge of art principles, hair styling, hair cutting and shaping, hair coloring, thermal waving and curling, permanent waving, chemical relaxing, shampooing, manicuring, scalp and facial treatments.
The 400-Hour Manicure Course provides training of at least 400 hours over a period of not less than 3 ½ months. During this period the student is taught a basic knowledge of all phases of manicuring, and attains a working knowledge of shop management. Upon graduation students will have a basic knowledge of a plain manicure, nail art, oil manicure, nail repair and artificial nail applications.
The 500-Hour Instructor Course provides training of at least 500 hours over a period of not less than 3 ½ months. During this time the student is taught a basic knowledge of teaching all phases of cosmetology. Upon graduation the trainee instructor will have a thorough knowledge of the cosmetology curriculum, course outlining and development, lesson planning, teaching techniques, teaching aids, developing, administering and grading examinations, laws and rules, record keeping, school administration, practice teaching in clinic and theory classrooms.

Brush-up courses, over contract cost, for Cosmetology and Manicuring are $7 per hour; partial courses (transfers) are $7 per hour; and brush-up State Board classes are $8 per hour.
